“We All Know It”: Thierry Henry Reveals Zinedine Zidane’s Destiny After the 2026 World Cup
Thierry Henry dropped the phrase that confirms what many already suspected: Zinedine Zidane’s future with France seems written.
Zidane’s Shadow Over France
Since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, the name Zinedine Zidane has been consistently linked with the French national team. And more and more voices agree that he is the natural successor to Didier Deschamps. According to L’Équipe, there is almost unanimous consensus within the Federation for ‘Zizou’ to take over after the 2026 World Cup.
Although president Philippe Diallo insists it is “too early” to make decisions, Zidane’s figure remains ever-present as the inevitable future of Les Bleus.
Henry Doesn’t Hide It
Fueling the debate further was Thierry Henry, now a commentator on CBS, who didn’t try to conceal the obvious. “I don’t know what to answer. We all know who the next coach will be. You know it, and I know it. And I wish him the best,” he said when asked directly about Zidane.
His words sounded less like a comment and more like confirmation of what lies ahead for France.
Zidane, an Undisputed Leader
Adding to Henry’s voice was that of a close friend of the coach, cited by L’Équipe, who claimed “Zidane knows everything” and is fully aware of how much players want to work under him. His charisma, titles, and experience keep him as the most respected figure to lead France in the future.
With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, the bench of the world champions already seems to have a clear heir: Zinedine Zidane.
