(PHOTOS) Cristiano Ronaldo Junior Wins His First International Title With Portugal
The Ronaldo name lifted another trophy in Europe — but this time, it wasn’t thanks to the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo. Instead, it was his eldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Junior, who celebrated his first international title with Portugal’s U-16 national team after defeating England in the final of the Federation Cup in Turkey.
The moment was both emotional and symbolic: as soon as the final whistle blew, Cristiano Jr sprinted to the stands to embrace Georgina Rodríguez, who traveled to support him on a day that marks the beginning of his path in international football.
The Road to the Trophy: Debut, Goal and Final
This tournament represented far more than a simple championship for Cristiano Jr. It was his official introduction to Portugal’s U-16 setup.
He made his debut last week against host nation Turkey, showing personality, confidence, and a playing style reminiscent of his father — direct, aggressive, and always locked in on the goal.
His first strike for Portugal came in their 3-0 win over Wales, scoring the team’s second goal and proving he was there on merit, not just because of his last name.
In the final against England, he entered in the second half to help close out the match. Portugal won 2-1, powered by a brilliant brace from Rafael Cabral, the Braga talent who became the star of the decisive game.
A Celebration Rooted in Family
Georgina’s presence was impossible to miss. From the stands, she cheered every action, supporting Cristiano Jr like a proud mother taking in his first big international moment.
After the victory, mother and son posed with the trophy, a moment she later shared on social media with a heartfelt caption:
“I love being a mom. I’m so proud of my big boy.”
Georgina has played a key role in Cristiano Junior’s life since 2016, serving as a maternal figure while Cristiano Ronaldo continues his career in Saudi Arabia.

The Football Growth of the Ronaldo Heir
Although still very young, Cristiano Jr already boasts an impressive résumé. He has spent time at the academies of Real Madrid, Juventus, and now continues his development with Al-Nassr’s youth system.
Earlier this year, he also shined with Portugal’s U-15 team at the Vlatko Markovic Tournament in Croatia, scoring twice in the final to help secure the title.
His father, fully aware of the weight carried by the Ronaldo name, supports him without adding unnecessary pressure:
“He’s competitive like I was when I was young. I don’t put pressure on him — he already has enough for being my son. I hope he can become a professional in the future.”
A Future Beginning to Take Shape
As Cristiano Ronaldo inches closer to the end of his own career — something he admitted recently on Piers Morgan Uncensored — his son’s rise appears to be gaining momentum.
And this first international title is a clear sign that a new, promising chapter for the Ronaldo legacy may just be getting started.
