Messi Doesn’t Even Come Close to Cristiano Ronaldo in Terms of Annual Earnings
Cristiano Ronaldo has officially renewed his contract with Al Nassr, the Saudi Arabian club, and with this new extension, the Portuguese superstar secures an astronomical salary that far exceeds what Lionel Messi earns at Inter Miami.

How Much Will Cristiano Ronaldo Earn?
According to international reports, CR7 will earn $234 million per year, totaling $468 million over the duration of his new contract. This staggering amount once again positions him as one of the highest paid footballers in the world.
In comparison, Lionel Messi doesn’t even earn a fifth of that figure. While the Argentine also has a lucrative contract in MLS, his earnings come nowhere close to those of his long-time rival.
Messi Falls Well Below the “Commander”
Currently, Lionel Messi, who is competing in the Club World Cup with Inter Miami, earns a base salary of $12 million per year. Though he also receives an additional $20 million annually from endorsements and commercial deals, the total still falls significantly short of what Cristiano Ronaldo makes in Saudi Arabia.
In fact, according to reports including La Gazzetta dello Sport, Saudi clubs most notably Al Hilal are already looking to lure Messi to the Saudi Pro League.
What Are Cristiano and Messi Worth on the Market?
According to Transfermarkt, Lionel Messi current market value is $21 million, while Cristiano Ronaldo is valued at $14 million. Despite the difference, the Portuguese icon remains a key figure both for his club and for the national team, continuing to perform as a top scorer even at age 40.
Ronaldo is expected to finish his contract at 42, proving that his performance and commercial appeal are still highly prized in the world of football.
Meanwhile, Messi continues to rack up international accolades and trophies, although his recent achievements are not reflected in a salary comparable to the former Real Madrid star.
