Jude Bellingham Sends a Warning Ahead of the Club World Cup: "This Isn’t Just Another Tour"
The 2024/25 season may not go down as one of Real Madrid’s most memorable, but the Spanish giants are already looking to bounce back on a global stage: the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place this summer in the United States. And for Jude Bellingham, this tournament is far more than a preseason showcase or commercial tour.
Speaking to GOAL, the English midfielder made his intentions crystal clear:
“We have the opportunity to win a different kind of title. Being the first club to do it really matters. Real Madrid deserves that kind of recognition.”
The upcoming edition will be the first under the expanded 32-team format, and Real Madrid will begin the new cycle under a fresh leader: Xabi Alonso, who takes over following Carlo Ancelotti’s departure.
Excited to Compete on U.S. Soil
Beyond the silverware, Bellingham expressed excitement about playing in the United States—a rare opportunity in club football:
“I don’t usually play in the U.S., so that makes it special too. There will be different opponents, a different atmosphere... a lot of positives.”
Despite being far from home, Madrid will enjoy strong support in the U.S., where their fanbase continues to grow. Fittingly, their debut will take place at one of the country’s most iconic venues.
Real Madrid’s Tough Group
Real Madrid have been drawn into Group H, alongside Al-Hilal, Pachuca, and RB Salzburg. Their tournament debut is set for June 18 against the Saudi Arabian side at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
