Cristiano Ronaldo's Son Has Already Chosen Which National Team He Wants to Represent
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. has received the call-up from the Portugal U-15 team to compete in the Vlatko Markovic tournament, which will take place from May 13 to 18 in Croatia
Fans of Portugal are fully aware that time is running out for Cristiano Ronaldo, and they don't know when the last time will be that he wears his national team colors... with just over a year until the start of the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. However, they can rest easy knowing that his legacy is secure after it was announced that his son has decided to represent Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo's son could represent five countries
Currently in the Al-Nassr academy, and after stints at Juventus and Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. had the option to represent up to five different countries. First, although his father played for Real Madrid at the time, he was born in California in 2010, meaning he had the right to represent the United States. However, in addition to choosing Portugal, he had many more options to consider.
Because he spent a large part of his childhood in Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. could also have received a call-up from Spain... just like what recently happened with Marcelo's son. This call-up could have been joined by England, since he played in the Manchester United academy for one season and half of the next, until he moved with his father to Saudi Arabia. Additionally, there was the remote possibility that he could represent Cape Verde due to his ancestry.
Cristiano Ronaldo congratulates his son
However, even though he has never had the chance to live there and immerse himself in the country's culture, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. feels that Portuguese blood runs through his veins and has made his choice clear when the opportunity to decide came. Thus, he is now part of the list of call-ups for the Portugal U-15 team for the Vlatko Markovic tournament, which will take place from May 13 to 18 in Croatia. He will debut against Japan, and later face Greece and England.
Minutes after hearing the news, his father posted a photo on his Instagram account with the list of call-ups, where Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.'s name appears with the following message: “Proud of you, son!”. This message was also joined by one from his grandmother Dolores Aveiro: “I’m so proud of my boy who follows in his father’s footsteps, representing our national team. Grandma will be there supporting you. PRIDE.”
