Ancelotti: "I'm Better Than Ever, the Honeymoon Continues"
The conquest of his second league title as Real Madrid coach, the club's thirty-sixth, and the qualification for the Champions League final, to be played against Borussia Dortmund on June 1, make Carlo Ancelotti acknowledge that he is "better than ever" and that his "honeymoon continues" with the club.
"I'm doing very well, better than ever, the honeymoon continues. I'm happy and excited about what might happen. A press conference without pressure, with the journalists being too affectionate," he joked relaxedly. "The only problem is that I know sooner or later the setback comes. Now that they're not here, I enjoy it," he added.
The Italian coach assured Éder Militao's starting position, whom he still sees lacking rhythm to compete for a starting spot in the Champions League final. "Not yet, he needs more minutes. He is progressing very well. I think every game he gets better but he needs minutes. Hopefully, he can be at his best for the final," he wished.
And he acknowledged that Aurélien Tchouaméni has a difficult time reaching the match against Borussia Dortmund. "He doesn't have many chances but he's not ruled out for the final. Now he has an important week. His foot doesn't hurt much, it's different from the last problem he had. It's not ruled out that he can return for the final."
