Ancelotti Drifts Away from Brazil... and Closer to Saudi Arabia?
What once seemed a done deal may now be falling apart. Carlo Ancelotti, widely tipped to become the next Brazil national team coach, is reportedly no longer in the plans of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). According to Brazilian outlet Ge, negotiations have collapsed — and Saudi Arabia may now be his next potential destination.

Saudi Arabia Resurfaces as a Possible Destination
Ancelotti’s name has been linked to Saudi football for months. In February 2025, he addressed the speculation during a press conference when asked about his interest in coaching in the Gulf state:
“Why not? If I want to keep coaching after I’m done here… why not?”
With Saudi Arabia investing heavily in football as part of its Vision 2030 project and its bid to host the 2034 World Cup, Ancelotti expressed understanding of their ambitions:
“It shouldn’t be surprising that a country wants to invest in football. It may be less competitive now, but in the future, it won’t be.”
On Money and the Future: “Why Not?”
Back in December 2023, Ancelotti joked about Saudi Arabia’s lavish offers — referencing deals like that of golfer Jon Rahm — but admitted money had never been a key motivator in his career:
“I grew up in a family where money wasn’t important… But if one day I go to Saudi Arabia and feel good, why not?”
With Brazil seemingly out of the picture and his future at Real Madrid uncertain beyond 2025, Saudi Arabia could offer Carlo Ancelotti not only a fresh challenge, but perhaps the most lucrative contract of his legendary career.
