(VIDEO) Marcelo Son Destroys Barcelona All by Himself
Real Madrid youth academy continues to showcase its strength and talent. This time, it has done so by winning the prestigious Al Abtal International Cup, widely regarded as the “U16 Champions League.” The team, led by Álvaro López, claimed the title after a stunning comeback against FC Barcelona, finishing with an emphatic 5–2 victory in the final.

White Comeback Sparks Marcelo Joyful Celebration
The match didn’t start well for the Madrid side. Barça struck early through a goal from Byron Mendoza. However, the young Blancos quickly responded. In the 33rd minute, center-back Rubén Díaz leveled the score with a powerful strike from outside the box a goal that drew an emotional celebration from Marcelo, who was in the stands at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium to watch his son Enzo in action.
A Thrilling Clásico with a Madrid Signature
Although Real Madrid dominated the play, they went into halftime with the score still tied. But after the break, Álvaro López squad came out firing. Following a well-rehearsed set piece, Raúl Andrei found space on the edge of the box and beat the Barça keeper with a superb shot. Just six minutes later, Edu Valentín capitalized on a loose ball outside the area to score the third and push Los Blancos firmly toward the title.
Bugarín and Valentín Seal an Unforgettable Final
Bryan Bugarín, one of La Fábrica brightest prospects, also made his mark. The No. 10 calmly finished a loose ball inside the six-yard box to score the fourth. Minutes later, he returned as the provider, assisting Edu Valentín for his second goal of the night a powerful strike that sealed the win. Marcelo, in the stands, was seen celebrating with the iconic “manita” (five-finger) gesture.

Barça managed a late consolation goal through Gorka, who finished off a well-placed low cross to make it 5–2. But it was too little, too late. Real Madrid U16s lifted the trophy and once again proved why their youth academy remains one of the most promising in European football.
