After an exciting round of Semifinals, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has confirmed its two finalists, as well as the teams that will compete for third place.
Who are the AFCON 2025 finalists?
As tournament hosts, Morocco opened the Africa Cup of Nations against Comoros on December 21, 2025. Now, the Atlas Lions will also take part in the final match of the tournament.
Led by Brahim Díaz, Morocco will face Senegal, who booked their place in the final thanks to a victory over Mohamed Salah’s Egypt, with Sadio Mané once again playing a decisive role.

AFCON 2025 Final: date, time, and venue
The AFCON 2025 Final between Morocco and Senegal will be played on Sunday, January 18, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, kicking off at 2:00 p.m. ET (US Eastern Time).
One day earlier, the third-place match will see Egypt take on Nigeria at the Mohammed V Stadium, starting at 11:00 a.m. ET.
How many AFCON titles has Morocco won?
Morocco have won the Africa Cup of Nations once, lifting the trophy in 1976.
The Atlas Lions had gone more than 20 years without reaching an AFCON final. Their last appearance in a final came in 2004, when they were defeated by Tunisia.
How many times has Senegal won the AFCON?
Sadio Mané’s Senegal will have the chance to fight for their second Africa Cup of Nations title at Morocco 2025.
Their first and only title came in 2021, when they defeated Egypt in the final. Prior to that triumph, Senegal finished as runners-up in 2002 and 2019.
