The AFCON Best XI
Morocco and Senegal, both finalists, dominate the list of the best eleven players of the Africa Cup of Nations. Nigeria won the bronze medal and also managed to place three of its players on the list.
Senegal defeats Morocco in the final after scoring the winning goal in extra time, and Nigeria beat Egypt in the third-place match, which was decided by a 4-2 penalty shootout.
CAF's list of players
The African Football Confederation’s Technical Study Group (TSG) revealed the championship’s best XI, from the tournament held in Morocco that Senegal ultimately won. The tournament’s team selection is based on a comprehensive performance evaluation model of all players throughout every match of the championship.

A look into the best XI of the tournament
The runner-up’s presence is felt in goal with Yassine Bounou, in the defensive line with Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui—one on each flank—and finally, The Atlas Lions’ lineup is rounded out by Brahim Díaz up front.
Meanwhile, the African Cup of Nations champions control the midfield with Idrissa and Pape Gueye. They also have players in the defensive line with Moussa Niakhaté and in the forward line with Sadio Mané.
Finally, the team that finished third in this championship also has three players in the tournament’s ideal eleven, one in each area of the pitch. Calvin Bassey in defense, Ademola Lookman in midfield, and Victor Osimhen round out this list at center forward.
