Sadio Mané: New Record
After the victory against Egypt, Sadio Mané achieves a new record.
After scoring the winning goal in the African Cup of Nations semi-final that led Senegal to become a finalist, Sadio Mané became the first player to reach 20 goal contributions in this tournament since the start of OPTA records.
Since his debut in the 2015 African Cup of Nations, Sadio Mané has been involved in more goals than any other player in this tournament and has the chance to secure this record in the final against Morocco if he manages to contribute with assists or goals for Senegal.
Sadio Mané is in the lead
Mané has 20 goal contributions, including 11 goals and 9 assists. His 11 goals alone place him fifth in the all-time top scorers' table behind the likes of Samuel Eto'o.
We are talking about Sadio Mané reaching his third final and hoping to become champion for the second time this Sunday and bring the 2025 African Cup of Nations to Dakar.

Mo Salah, in second place.
Behind him in this ranking is his recent rival, whom he beat during the Egypt vs. Senegal semi-final, Mo Salah.
The Egyptian today has 11 goals and 5 assists, equaling Mané in goals, but with 4 fewer assists than the Senegalese. It should be noted that Salah has had fewer appearances in the tournament than Sadio Mané, but, having been eliminated from the competition, the chances of surpassing him are nil until the next tournament.

The grand finale
Sadio Mané can seek to secure this record in the grand final of the African Cup of Nations to be held on Sunday, January 18 against Morocco, the host nation, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium.
