Will Senegal be able to play in the World Cup?
Following the incidents in the final between Morocco and Senegal, in which the Lions of Teranga won 1-0 with a goal in extra time.
In the second half of the match, the players and coach, following the referee's decision to award a penalty to Morocco in overtime, decided to leave the field. Added to this were serious incidents involving the fans. Now, they face a possible sanction that could exclude players and coaches from the World Cup.

What happened in the 98th minute?
The Congolese referee Ndala Ngambo awarded a penalty after a foul on Brahim Díaz in the 95th minute by Malick Diouf, and after consulting VAR, he decided to award the penalty three minutes later. Due to the referee’s controversial decision, Senegal’s coaching staff and players decided to walk off the pitch; however, they later returned. The match resumes with Brahim Díaz missing the penalty.
Possible disciplinary measures
According to the regulations of the Africa Cup of Nations, the possible sanction for Senegal, which in this case was crowned champion, could consist of a fine and suspensions of between four and six matches for both the coaches and players involved. Given the proximity of the World Cup and the remaining dates to be played, the participation of the players and staff involved is at risk.
The FIFA president was unequivocal and condemned the violent incidents perpetrated by some fans, including the behavior of members of the Senegalese national team. Gianni Infantino urged the organizations with jurisdiction to take the appropriate disciplinary measures in this case.
