Sierra Leone vs Zimbabwe: How and Where to Watch LIVE

Sierra Leone will face Zimbabwe this Thursday, September 24, at Stade Ben M’Hamed El Abdi in El Jadida, Morocco, in Matchday 1 of the 2027 AFCON Qualifiers. The match will be broadcast LIVE at 3:00 PM ET / 12:00 PM PT on beIN SPORTS.

How Sierra Leone arrive

Sierra Leone begin their campaign under head coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa, who named a 25-man squad for the opening matches against Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea.

The Leone Stars’ selection includes Osman Kakay, Juma Bah, Tyrese Fornah and Sullay Kaikai, alongside players competing in the domestic league.

The team will be aiming to return to the Africa Cup of Nations after missing the 2025 edition. Their last appearance came at the tournament played in Cameroon in 2022, when they exited in the group stage.

Although Sierra Leone are the designated home team, they will begin qualifying away from home soil. Their second match will be against Equatorial Guinea on September 28.

How Zimbabwe arrive

Zimbabwe enter the qualifiers under new head coach Ramón Catalá, who took charge in August 2026.

The Spanish coach included experienced players such as Marshall Munetsi, Marvelous Nakamba and Tino Kadewere in his squad for the opening international window.

The Warriors competed at AFCON 2025 in Morocco and are now seeking another appearance at the continental tournament.

After facing Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe will return to Harare to host the Democratic Republic of the Congo on September 28. The Zimbabwe Football Association confirmed that the squad began preparations in Morocco ahead of Thursday's opener.

A key match to start the qualifiers

Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe share Group E with DR Congo and Equatorial Guinea.

The top two teams will qualify for AFCON 2027, which will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

With six matches in the group stage, the opening encounter offers both teams an opportunity to collect important points before facing their next opponents.

Group E's other Matchday 1 fixture will see DR Congo host Equatorial Guinea on September 24.
