Mauritania vs Central African Republic: How and Where to Watch LIVE
Mauritania will face the Central African Republic this Thursday, September 24, at Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca, Morocco, in the opening round of the 2027 AFCON Qualifiers.
The match will be broadcast LIVE at 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT on beIN SPORTS. Although Mauritania are the designated home team, the fixture will take place outside their country because their stadiums did not complete the necessary approval process in time for international matches.
How Mauritania arrive
Mauritania begin their qualifying campaign under Aritz López Garai, who named a 27-man squad for the matches against the Central African Republic and Benin.
Among those selected are Aboubacary Koïta, Djeidi Gassama, Mohsine Bodda and Aly Abeid. The squad also features Abdoullah Ba, Mohamed-Ali Diadié and Baïla Diallo, all receiving their first senior international call-ups.
The Mourabitounes will look to open with a victory before facing Benin away on September 29. That match will also take place outside the home team's country, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
How Central African Republic arrive
The Central African Republic have another opportunity to achieve something they have never accomplished: qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Head coach Eloge Enza-Yamissi named 26 players for the opening fixtures, including three footballers receiving their first senior international call-ups.
After facing Mauritania, the Fauves will take on Burkina Faso on September 28, also in Casablanca.
A key match to start the qualifiers
Mauritania and the Central African Republic share Group F with Burkina Faso and Benin.
The top two teams will qualify for AFCON 2027, which will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
With six matches to secure qualification, collecting points from the opening round will be important for both sides before their meetings with the group's other two teams.
