How to Watch: Saudi Arabia in Asian 2026 World Cup Qualification
In the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Saudi Arabia stunned the world with a historic victory over the eventual champions Argentina during the group stages. Now, the Green Falcons aim to qualify for their third consecutive World Cup, hoping to secure a place among the 48 elite teams heading to North America in 2026. But with the Asian qualifiers reaching their final stretch, the road is getting tougher.
Crunch Time in Group Play
With only two matchdays remaining, Japan have already clinched the top spot in the group. The battle for the second direct qualification spot is still alive, but Saudi Arabia trails Australia by three points and a +9 goal difference.
To qualify, Saudi Arabia needs a perfect finish:
- Japan must take points off Australia this Thursday
- Saudi Arabia must beat Bahrain
- And then win against Australia next Tuesday in a high-stakes showdown.
