Shocking Breakthrough in Michael Schumacher’s Health
Michael Schumacher may no longer be bedridden: progress after ski accident
According to a report by the Daily Mail, Michael Schumacher, seven-time Formula 1 world champion, has reportedly made significant progress in his recovery, more than twelve years after the severe ski accident that changed his life. The German driver may now be able to sit in a wheelchair, according to sources close to the family.
Journalist Jonathan McEvoy visited the Schumacher residence in Las Brisas, near Andratx (Mallorca), and reported that the former driver can move around in a wheelchair within his property. Schumacher continues to receive 24/7 medical care under the supervision of his wife, Corinna, and a specialized team. Although his ability to communicate is limited, he seems to partially understand his surroundings.
The Sun notes that Schumacher has not appeared in public since the accident and that his communication abilities are likely minimal, reduced to simple gestures such as blinking—though this information has not been officially confirmed.
The accident that changed his life
On December 29, 2013, Schumacher suffered a ski accident in Méribel, France, while on vacation with his son Mick, who was 14 at the time. The severe traumatic brain injury left him in a coma and required emergency surgery.
After waking up in 2014, he was first transferred to a hospital in Lausanne and later to his residence in Gland, Switzerland, where he has remained under constant care. Since then, updates on his health have been minimal, coming only from his close circle: Corinna, Mick, and Gina Schumacher, as well as his friend Jean Todt.
