Michael Schumacher’s Brother’s Harsh Statement to Lewis Hamilton During His Time at Ferrari
Ralf Schumacher, Michael Schumacher's brother, questions Lewis Hamilton's performance at Ferrari and suggests that the team could rethink its future in F1.
A season start full of criticism
Lewis Hamilton continues to be at the center of controversy in Formula 1. After his poor performance in the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he was eliminated in Q2 with the 12th fastest time, the British driver surprised everyone by declaring that he felt “useless” and suggested that Ferrari should consider a driver change.
These words did not go unnoticed and provoked a reaction from Ralf Schumacher, who was blunt about Hamilton's situation at Maranello.
Schumacher's verdict
In statements to the German media outlet BILD, the former driver warned that these problems are no surprise:
“I said before the season that this could go wrong. Right now, I see a lot of drama on his part: criticism of the team, internal complaints, problems with the car; that doesn't help anyone.”
The brother of the seven-time world champion does not hesitate to compare Hamilton with Charles Leclerc:
“The car suits Leclerc, not him. Maybe he's too old to adapt. Or maybe he just can't handle it.”
Ferrari and its commitment to the future
Despite the criticism, Ferrari remains confident in Hamilton, although the real bet seems to be on Leclerc, who has performed at his best every day.
With the competition returning at the end of August at the Dutch Grand Prix, Hamilton will be under close scrutiny. If performance issues and internal criticism continue, Ferrari may consider drastic measures to ensure its success in the 2025 season.
