Max Verstappen Breaks His Silence and Defends Red Bull Following Christian Horner’s Departure
The Netherlands driver insists that, despite the slump in results and Horner's departure, the team still has the strength to return to the top.
Red Bull rebuilding after internal turmoil
Max Verstappen is going through one of his worst moments since arriving in Formula 1. The 2025 season has been a headache for the three-time champion, who is not only suffering from a drop in performance on the track but also has to deal with instability within Red Bull.
The recent dismissal of Christian Horner, the team principal who had been at the helm for more than two decades, marked a turning point. However, far from letting the situation get him down, Verstappen highlighted the team's “fighting spirit,” convinced that they will be able to rebuild and return to the top.
“It's a period of rebuilding, but we remain strong.”
In recent statements, Verstappen acknowledged that Red Bull is going through a transition period:
“It's a slight rebuild. We're still a very strong team, but we need to take a step forward, understand what's going on, and that takes time. I hope not too much.”
The Dutchman insisted that he is not worried about the slump. On the contrary, he is confident that the difficulties will help the team come back stronger.
“We've always had the mentality to come back stronger after a setback. This will be no exception.”
A challenge that will put Red Bull to the test
The question now is how long it will take Red Bull to get back on track without Horner at the helm. With rivals such as Ferrari and McLaren lying in wait, every race is crucial if they are to stay in contention for the championship.
For Verstappen, the key will be to maintain the unity and fighting spirit that has always distinguished the team. The season still has chapters to be written, and Red Bull is looking to prove that its winning DNA is intact.
