Malaysia will host the Bahrain Grand Prix from October 2-4 after the decision was officially confirmed.
Before the announcement, Malaysian Youth and Sports Minister Mohammed Taufiq Johari had stated that authorities were actively discussing and evaluating the proposal, according to a government statement released on Friday. The final decision was to stage the race at Sepang International Circuit, which last hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2017 after staging 19 editions of the event.

The original Formula 1 calendar featured 24 races, but both the Bahrain Grand Prix and the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, scheduled for April, were canceled due to the current situation.
