The British driver delivered a strategic masterclass in Hungary, closing the championship gap to just nine points behind his teammate Oscar Piastri.
Norris Takes the Win and Narrows the Standings
British driver Lando Norris delivered a crucial victory for McLaren at the Hungarian Grand Prix, beating his teammate and current championship leader Oscar Piastri. This result trims the title gap to just nine points, intensifying the battle at the top of the standings.
George Russell of Mercedes rounded out the podium in third, while Charles Leclerc, who had claimed pole position for Ferrari, faded to fourth due to tire degradation and a questionable team strategy. Fernando Alonso, showing his experience and consistency, secured fifth place for Aston Martin.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) struggled once again. Starting eighth, Verstappen finished ninth, while Hamilton remained stuck in 12th — a disappointing result following his recent comments suggesting he might leave the team.
