Antonelli Makes History Again
Kimi Antonelli continues to add milestones to a career that is just beginning, yet already historic. After winning the Chinese Grand Prix and returning Italy to the top step of the podium after 20 years, the young driver shined again in Japan and broke another record.
With his victory in Suzuka, Kimi Antonelli became the youngest driver to lead Formula 1, surpassing the record set by Sebastian Vettel. At just 19 years old, the Italian has established himself as the breakout star of the season, not only because of his speed, but also due to the maturity he shows on track.
Total Dominance in Japan
The weekend in Japan was practically perfect. Just like in China, he secured pole position, set the fastest lap, and took the win. Kimi Antonelli is flying on track and proving that Mercedes has built a car far superior to the rest.
Second place went to his teammate, George Russell, who is also in great form. Although he lost the championship lead, he is shaping up to be the main rival to Kimi Antonelli in the title fight.
Oscar Piastri, meanwhile, claimed his first podium of the season by finishing third. The Australian driver said it was his best weekend and that he felt more comfortable than ever with McLaren.
The reigning world champion, Lando Norris, finished in fifth place after a difficult weekend. The Brit struggled with the car and has yet to adapt to energy management, which has cost him ground in defending his title. For now, Mercedes sets the pace.

A Future Pointing to the Championship
In the constructors’ championship, Mercedes is clearly dominating, something that is evident on track. Kimi Antonelli has interpreted the new regulations better than anyone, putting him a step ahead of drivers who are still adapting to this new era of Formula 1.
The Italian has a clear goal: to become the youngest driver to win a world championship. The record is held by Sebastian Vettel, who achieved it at 23 years old. If Mercedes maintains this level, we could be witnessing a historic Formula 1 season.
