Rustam Yunusov Ready To ‘Make Some Noise’ At ONE Friday Fights 155
Rustam "Tomahawk" Yunusov has been phenomenal in his young career. The 19-year-old phenom has seven wins in ONE Championship, a spotless 16-0 professional record, and a target on his back that gets bigger with every performance.
At ONE Friday Fights 155 on May 22, he steps into the flyweight Muay Thai main event against Decho Mavinn Muaythai with one thing on his mind: making the kind of statement that changes the course of his career.
The Russian Phenom Is Just Getting Warmed Up
Rustam Yunusov does not do quiet wins.
The 19-year-old Moscow-born southpaw has built a perfect 16-0 record on a foundation of sharp left hands, elite footwork, and the kind of composed aggression that makes him impossible to prepare for.
Yunusov’s seventh ONE Championship victory – a decisive unanimous decision over Khunponnoi Sor Sommai – was another chapter in a story that keeps getting more compelling with every fight.
He is still a teenager, he is still getting sharper, and he knows that the next step requires something more than another solid performance. It requires a highlight-reel moment. The six-figure contract and global roster spot he has been working toward demand a statement, and he has one ready.
"I can give you a spoiler. This message will be for everybody," Yunusov said. "It's like, ‘Hey guys, now I guess it's my turn to make some noise in ONE Championship.’"
Decho Is A Problem, And Rustam Knows It
Decho Mavinn Muaythai is not the kind of opponent who makes life easy for anyone.
The 23-year-old Muay Khao specialist has been one of the most destructive forces on the ONE Friday Fights circuit. He’s riding a three-fight winning streak built on a suffocating clinch game and knee attacks that have worn down and finished opponents at every level.

The Thai presses opponents, smothers them, and gets better as the rounds go on. Most fighters who try to out-muscle him regret it.
Yunusov has watched the tape and respects what he sees. But respect and fear are two different things, and the Russian phenom is carrying neither into Friday's main event.
"Decho is a pretty experienced one. He's young, but he has a lot of professional fights, and he's a pretty smart fighter. He doesn't fight like a tank," Yunusov said. "I got to go straight and make a kill."
