ONE Friday Fights 161 Results: 18-Year-Old Star Jaradchai Overcomes Adversity, Petsiam Demolishes Taghizade
ONE Championship kicked off the second half of 2026 with an absolute thriller, as ONE Friday Fights 161 delivered on all fronts at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, July 10.
Eighteen-year-old sensation Jaradchai Maxjandee showed a side of himself nobody had seen before, surviving a knockdown in the second round before rallying to claim a unanimous decision over Othman "The Ironside" Rhouni. Plus, in the co-main event, two-division Rajadamnern Stadium World Champion Petsiam T2A Waterubon needed less than two minutes to dismantle Nihad Taghizade with a relentless body kick assault.
The Kid Shows He Has Heart
Jaradchai Maxjandee arrived at ONE Friday Fights 161 with three knockouts and zero adversity. He left with something more valuable: the knowledge that he can weather a storm and come out the other side swinging.
The first round was classic Jaradchai – he was composed, clinical, and moving well off the back foot, but he also perfectly timed his flying knees and head kicks with the brilliance that has defined his ONE Championship run.
While the 18-year-old Thai sensation enjoyed a dominant round one, Othman "The Ironside" Rhouni refused to be a human heavy bag in the second frame. Jaradchai continued his unorthodox attacks, but as he loaded up a left high kick, the Moroccan beat him to the punch with a left hook. That stopped the teen star in his tracks and crumpled him to the canvas, as the referee administered an eight-count.
Jaradchai returned to his feet, but now, he found himself in unfamiliar territory. “The Ironside” did something no previous opponent forced the Thai to do – respond to adversity. And he did.
Behind on the scorecards, Jaradchai stormed out of his corner with a new fire in the third and final round. He cornered Rhouni, staggered him with a heavy punch, rattled him again with a flying knee, and dropped him with a left high kick. The Moroccan beat the eight-count, but he was unable to slow down his rival’s attacks.
After the final bell rang, it was clear. All three judges delivered the same verdict, giving the unanimous decision to Jaradchai. The win moved his career record to 77-25, but the character on display was worth more than any of the three knockouts before it.
Petsiam Makes It Look Routine
Two-division Rajadamnern Stadium World Champion Petsiam T2A Waterubon needed less than two minutes to ruin Nihad "Sheikh" Taghizade's promotional debut. Most surprisingly, he made it look effortless.
Petsiam went straight to work on the Azerbaijani's body, dropping him with a left middle kick for the first knockdown of the strawweight kickboxing contest.
Taghizade showed heart, beat the count, and tried to reset, but the decorated Thai was already on him with another punishing body kick that put him back on the canvas.
The writing was on the wall before the referee stepped in. Taghizade's liver had absorbed enough, and the stoppage came at 1:53. Just like that, Petsiam improved his career record to 55-19 and looks like a fighter built for bigger things.
