Maisangkum Is Back, Recharged, And Fighting For Something New At ONE Friday Fights 158
After nearly a year away from competition, Maisangkum Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang returns to action at ONE Friday Fights 158 determined to continue his resurgence. The Thai knockout artist enters the main event against Petnamkhong Sor Maneekhot with renewed confidence, valuable lessons learned, and extra motivation inspired by his newborn son.
After 11 months away from the ONE Championship ring, Maisangkum Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang is finally set to make his return. The 25-year-old Thai striker headlines ONE Friday Fights 158 on June 12, where he will face Petnamkhong Sor Maneekhot in a highly anticipated showdown.
The extended break gave Maisangkum time to reflect, regroup, and refocus after experiencing one of the toughest moments of his career. Now, he enters the next chapter with a renewed mindset and a stronger sense of purpose.
Lessons Learned, Momentum Rebuilt
Maisangkum burst onto the ONE Championship scene with a series of explosive performances that quickly established him as one of the promotion’s most dangerous finishers. However, a knockout loss to fellow Thai fighter Watcharaphon Laochokcharoen in December 2024 forced him to reassess his approach inside the ring.

The setback became a turning point. Determined to improve, Maisangkum adjusted his mentality and returned with a more disciplined performance against Petsangwan Sor Samarngarment in July 2025. That victory, earned by unanimous decision, helped him regain confidence and return to winning ways.
Reflecting on that performance, Maisangkum credited his physical strength and preparation for allowing him to execute his game plan successfully. More importantly, the win reignited his motivation and reminded him of the level he is capable of reaching.
A Dangerous Challenge Awaits
Standing across from him on Friday will be Petnamkhong Sor Maneekhot, a fighter who has steadily developed into one of the division’s most dangerous competitors.
The 22-year-old Laotian enters the bout riding a two-fight winning streak and has shown noticeable improvements in both his physicality and overall skill set. Known for his aggressive pressure, Petnamkhong has also added more variety to his offense, making him a difficult puzzle to solve.

Despite respecting his opponent’s recent growth, Maisangkum believes his superior speed can be the deciding factor. His strategy centers on staying patient early, avoiding unnecessary risks, and capitalizing on counterattacking opportunities before increasing the pace as the fight progresses.
Fighting For His Son
Beyond rankings and victories, Maisangkum now carries a deeper source of motivation. The recent birth of his son, Nong Pheem, has transformed the way he approaches both training and competition.
While his family remains in Chiang Mai, Maisangkum continues his preparations in Phetchabun and stays connected through regular phone calls. Those conversations provide the emotional boost that helps him push through the most demanding moments of camp.
This Friday, the Thai star is chasing more than another victory. He hopes to deliver a memorable performance, earn a bonus, and dedicate both achievements to his son as an unforgettable first birthday gift.
