Kongsuk, Mongkoldetlek Lead Stacked ONE Friday Fights 156 On May 29
After four compelling editions, ONE Championship is closing the month with another exciting installment of its ONE Friday Fights series. The promotion will host the latest version of its weekly martial arts extravaganza, ONE Friday Fights 156, at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, May 29.
Viewers can look forward to nine Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA bouts, and every athlete on the card is chasing the same dream: a six-figure contract and roster spot with ONE Championship. This week, a two-time Lumpinee Stadium World Champion headlines the bill, a decorated counter-striker returns in the co-main event, and a fighter from Cape Verde makes history.
A Two-Time Champion Looks To Keep Rolling
Kongsuk Sitsarawatsuer has been here before, and that experience is exactly what makes him so dangerous.
The 25-year-old Sitsarawatseur product holds two Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Titles, enters the main event on a three-fight winning streak, and is coming off a bonus-winning stoppage at ONE Friday Fights 146. Every performance is pushing him closer to the six-figure contract that would change his life, and this Friday, he has another chance to make that case.
Standing in his way is Uzbek striker Khakimov Anisjon, a forward-pressure fighter who builds his offense around a powerful straight right and damaging body kicks.
Anisjon makes his ONE Championship debut with everything to prove against one of the more established names in the bantamweight Muay Thai division. That combination makes him more dangerous, not less.
Titles And Experience Collide In The Co-Main Event
The co-main event is a battle of credentials.
Mongkoldetlek Por Pim-on is a Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion who has beaten former ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Joseph Lasiri and pushed reigning ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Haggerty.
The 30-year-old Thai is a counter-striker with sharp kicks, impeccable timing, and a clinch game that has given world-class opponents serious problems, including those aforementioned names. He returns on Friday with the goal of adding another quality name to an already impressive list.
His opponent, Ruslan Tuktarov, is making his promotional debut out of Tiger Muay Thai with a 14-3 record and a style built on patience and precision. The 26-year-old Russian uses footwork and timing to drag opponents into uncomfortable positions before punishing them with heavy kicks and combinations. Now, he plans to kick the door down and make a statement at ONE Friday Fights 156.
