Dedduanglek Bets On Youth And Size To Topple Former World Champ At ONE Friday Fights 174
Dedduanglek Torfunfarm has already proven he can overcome adversity, and this Friday, October 9, the 23-year-old gets his chance to prove it again. The Thai standout will face former Lumpinee Stadium World Champion Mongkoldetlek at ONE Friday Fights 174, and the stakes are high for both competitors.
A Razor-Close Loss He Refuses To Blame On Anyone Else
Everything appeared to be trending in the right direction for Dedduanglek heading into his last outing at ONE Friday Fights 167 this past August. He carried real momentum, felt spiritually renewed following a nine-day monkhood experience, and arrived fully motivated for his rematch with Kongsuk Sitsarawatsuer.
But after three breathless rounds, Dedduanglek walked away on the wrong end of a split decision, a result that could have gone either way.
Rather than point fingers, the 23-year-old places the responsibility squarely on his own shoulders.
“Personally, I feel like I gave it my absolute all. I was fully focused, but things just didn’t go as planned. I did everything I could, so I accept the judges’ decision and will focus on improving myself rather than blaming anyone else,” said Dedduanglek, the 2022 Road to ONE: Thailand winner.
“Kongsuk came in better than before, much tighter and didn’t rush straight in at me. I took those lessons to heart to make sure I don’t back up too much this time, try to throw more strikes, and add more power to my shots.”
A Battle-Tested Veteran Stands In His Way
Dedduanglek will need to bring his absolute best against Mongkoldetlek, a seasoned veteran who has looked flawless since returning to ONE Championship earlier this year.
The former Lumpinee Stadium World Champion mixed it up with some of the promotion’s best fighters during his initial run, including former ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Joseph Lasiri and now-reigning ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Haggerty.
But after four years away, he returned to the promotion in May 2026 and is going through the ONE Friday Fights circuit for his life-changing contract and global roster spot. And so far, he has looked phenomenal in competition.
Mongkoldetlek has built his resurgence on a well-rounded, adaptable game, relying on relentless forward pressure, sharp knees, and sturdy boxing defense that makes him an exceptionally difficult target. The Thai is currently riding a three-bout winning streak at ONE Friday Fights, and a fourth straight victory could net him the contract he has been seeking.
Dedduanglek has clearly done his homework, breaking down exactly what makes his 31-year-old opponent so dangerous.
“I watched tape of his fights this year against foreign fighters. It looked like he tried to use his knees against them since they usually aren’t as comfortable with that. His punch defense is solid too, which makes it tricky for guys to land cleanly on him,” Dedduanglek said.
“His striking power isn’t necessarily light-out power, but he’s got those knees, teeps, and relentless forward pressure. He’s well-rounded and can adapt on the fly because of his veteran instincts.”

Youth And Size Could Prove Decisive In ONE Friday Fights 174 Main Event
There is no doubt Mongkoldetlek brings veteran experience into the contest. Not only has he competed in ONE Championship for years with the four-ounce gloves, but he also has 128 career victories, more than double his Thai compatriot.
Despite the experience gap on paper, Dedduanglek doesn’t believe there’s much separating the two men anymore.
He points to his own growing résumé inside ONE Championship as proof he belongs in the ONE Friday Fights 174 main event, and he plans to lean on both his youth and a notable physical advantage, standing roughly eight centimeters taller than his opponent with a correspondingly larger frame.
Dedduanglek believes that combination of freshness and size could be enough to wear down Mongkoldetlek’s experience as the fight wears on, all while trusting the body kicks that have long been his signature weapon. That could all lead to his 60th career win.
“Winning this fight will get my momentum back on track after that disappointing loss last time,” Dedduanglek said. “As for my confidence, I just try to keep the fire burning for fighting, enjoying it, improving my potential, and giving myself room to keep sharpening my skill set.”
