The Multimillion-Dollar Cost of Bringing a UFC Event to the White House
Hosting a UFC event at the White House will cost around $60 million, fully funded by the organization and not by taxpayers.
The UFC is preparing one of the most unprecedented events in combat sports history: a fight card set to take place on June 14 in the South Lawn of the White House, as part of the 250th anniversary celebrations of American Independence. The initiative, promoted by Donald Trump, is now officially moving forward.
But staging an octagon at one of the most symbolic locations in the world comes with a massive price tag.
A $60 Million Production
According to Mark Shapiro, president of TKO Group Holdings, the estimated cost of the event is approximately $60 million.
The company plans to offset roughly half of that investment through corporate partnerships and sponsorship agreements. Even if expenses rise beyond initial projections, executives are confident they can recover close to $30 million through business-to-business deals.
Still, the event is not expected to be profitable on its own. The primary objective appears to be global exposure, brand positioning, and historic impact rather than immediate financial return.
No Public Funds Involved
Given the location, questions quickly surfaced about the use of taxpayer money. Dana White, president of the UFC, addressed those concerns directly, stating that no public funds will be used.
The organization will absorb the full cost of the event. White even compared the scale of the production to the recent Sphere event, suggesting that this White House card could be even more spectacular.
A Historic Night for the Sport
The official fight card has not yet been announced, but the event is expected to feature major bouts, special fighter presentations, and fan-focused activities throughout the weekend.
Never before has the UFC staged an event at the White House. Beyond the fights themselves, the night carries strong symbolic weight — blending sports, politics, and entertainment in a setting unlike any other in MMA history.
Now the only question remaining is which fight will headline one of the most unusual events the sport has ever seen.
