XFC 53 and Borroka MMA Partner for Historic Las Vegas Event Featuring Juan Archuleta and the Next Generation of MMA
Xtreme One Entertainment, Inc., the parent company of XFC Global, and Borroka MMA announced a historic partnership to co-promote XFC 53, set for Saturday, September 20, 2025, at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas.
The event, titled “Borroka MMA Presents XFC 53”, will feature featherweight world champion Juan “The Spaniard” Archuleta in the main event. Taking place during Mexican Independence Week, a key moment in the combat sports calendar, the collaboration between XFC and Borroka promises to deliver a top-tier MMA showcase in Las Vegas in 2025.

“Since acquiring the XFC brand in 2023, our goal at Xtreme One has been to align with visionary leaders in MMA,” said Chris Defendis, president of Xtreme One Entertainment. “Partnering with Randel Aleman and Borroka MMA is exactly the kind of collaboration we were looking for. Our shared vision for the future of MMA makes this a natural fit. We hope this is the first of many partnerships with regional promotions in the U.S. and globally.”
“This represents a milestone for Borroka MMA,” said Randel Aleman, president of Borroka MMA. “XFC has a long history in MMA with an international fanbase and global media distribution. Together, we can fulfill our promise to showcase the Next Generation of MMA®.”
“Hosting the event at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, during one of the most iconic weeks in combat sports, reflects everything we stand for. Our mission has always been to develop the future stars of MMA. We’re honored to be part of Mexican Independence Week and proud to show the world why XFC 53 will be the event of the year.”
The venue, formerly known as The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel, holds a special place in MMA history. Since hosting WFA 1 in 2001, it has been the stage for legendary promotions like UFC, WEC, Strikeforce, WSOF, and PFL. Renamed The Theater at Virgin Hotels, it returned to the MMA spotlight with UFC Fight Night: Yan vs. Dvalishvili in 2023, followed by several PFL events, solidifying its reputation as a platform for champions.
Now, Juan Archuleta (30-7) returns to action just a week after his birthday, following a viral knockout in June at BORROKA 3, where he captured the inaugural Borroka MMA featherweight world title with a stunning flying knee. Despite his notable career in Bellator, RIZIN, and King of the Cage, XFC 53 will mark his highly anticipated Las Vegas debut.
Archuleta will defend his Borroka MMA title against a yet-to-be-announced challenger. Full fight card details will be revealed in the coming days.
The co-main event will feature the first BORROKA XFC flyweight world title fight, pitting two of MMA’s most promising prospects against each other as they vie to become the division’s inaugural world champion and the promotion’s second overall world champion. This bout follows months of anticipation since both fighters signed with the promotion.
Galvan (9-3) returns after shining in Borroka MMA’s first two events. Known as “El Huracán,” Galvan knocked out former Dana White’s Contender Series alum Cee Jay Hamilton at BORROKA 1 and then headlined BORROKA 2: Galvan vs. Trujillo, securing a unanimous decision victory over former CFFC champion Alberto Trujillo in March.
On the other hand, Maya (9-3) returns to the cage after winning his Borroka debut on the same card as Galvan at BORROKA 2. The Mexican, nicknamed “Kamikaze,” defeated LFA veteran Rodney Kealohi by unanimous decision. Now, the interim Budo SC flyweight champion aims for his first world title, giving Mexican fans another reason to celebrate during Mexican Independence Week.
