Before he was a Muay Thai fighter, Ubaid Hussain was a footballer. But the Kiatphontip representative traded the pitch for the ring, and the results have been nothing short of spectacular. Fourteen fights, fourteen wins – and five of those victories have come inside ONE Championship, where he has dismantled every opponent put in front of him with a blend of punching power, relentless pressure, and ring intelligence that belies his age.
His most satisfying result came against Brazil Aekmuangnon, a fighter who walked in as the hometown hero and left having been dominated across all three rounds. For Hussain, that win was more than a result. It was a statement.
"My biggest victory was against Brazil because Brazil was a big favorite by the Thai fans. He had loads of girls screaming for him," Hussain explained. "Beating him easily, I would say, every round, made my reputation go higher. It made me more motivated to do better."
Respecting Panpadej And His Style
Doing better means going through Panpadej NF Looksuan, a 24-year-old rising star with a 58-5 career record, a spotless 5-0 slate in ONE Championship, and a 25-bout winning streak that has made him one of the most dangerous prospects in the flyweight Muay Thai division.
The Thai’s footwork is elite, and his boxing is sharper than the typical Muay Thai fighter. He knows how to win, and he rarely loses. Hussain has watched the tape, and he is not pretending the challenge is anything less than what it is.
"Panpadej is my next opponent. He's very good. I like his style," Hussain admitted. "He's also 5-0 in ONE Championship. He's got good footwork. He's not like the typical Thai fighter. He's got good boxing as well, so it's going to be a very exciting fight for the Thai fans and fans around the world."
This “Bad” man has a clear game plan for Friday, and a message to go with it.
"Panpadej, good luck on Friday. Don't underestimate me. On Friday night, I'm going to take away your confidence and hopefully get the win over you," Hussain said. "I like your fighting style, but only one person can be 6-0 in ONE Championship, and it's going to be me. Sorry."
