Ilia Topuria vs Charles Oliveira at UFC 317: Date, time, and Everything You Need to Know
The long-awaited clash between Ilia Topuria and Charles Oliveira will headline the UFC 317 card, set for Saturday, June 29, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. On the line will be the vacant lightweight title (155 lbs), following Islam Makhachev’s move up in weight. The fight promises fireworks, pitting one of the sport’s rising stars against one of its all-time greats.
The main card is scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. ET, with prelims starting at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Topuria vs Oliveira main event is expected to start around 12:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, capping off a stacked night in the world’s most iconic octagon.
A clash of generations and styles
Just 28 years old and boasting an undefeated record of 16-0, Ilia “El Matador” Topuria comes in as the sport’s newest sensation. Already crowned featherweight champion after defeating the likes of Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway, he now seeks to become a two-division champion. His explosive style, built on technical and powerful boxing, makes him a dangerous challenge for anyone.
Facing him is Brazilian veteran Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira, aged 35, former lightweight champion and the fighter with the most finishes in UFC history (20). With a record of 35 wins and 10 losses, Oliveira is a master of jiu-jitsu and determined to reclaim the belt he proudly held from 2021 to 2022. This could be one of the final major bouts of his illustrious career.
A stacked card of elite matchups
Beyond the main event, UFC 317 features a top-tier main card. In the co-main event, flyweight champ Alexandre Pantoja defends his belt against Kai Kara-France. Other standout matchups include Brandon Royval vs Manel Kape (flyweight), Paulo Costa vs Roman Kopylov (middleweight), and Jack Hermansson vs Gregory Rodrigues (middleweight).
The prelims are just as packed, with fights like Viviane Araújo vs Tracy Cortez (strawweight), Terrance McKinney vs Viacheslav Borshchev (lightweight), and Hyder Amil vs José Miguel Delgado (featherweight), setting the stage for an unforgettable night.
With contrasting styles but the same goal, Topuria and Oliveira are set to battle in a fight that could redefine the lightweight division. It’s youth vs experience, power vs finesse—only one will walk away with the gold.
