Saul “Canelo” Alvarez Will Make History: He Will Earn Several Million Dollars for His Fight Against Terence Crawford.
Canelo Álvarez will make history: he will earn more than $100 million in his fight against Terence Crawford in Las Vegas. Find out the details, figures, and schedule.
Canelo vs. Crawford: The Fight of the Millions
Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is about to write a new page in the history of Mexican sports. This Saturday, September 13, 2025, the Mexican boxer will face Terence Crawford at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, in a fight that promises to break records not only in the ring, but also in the figures outside of it.
During the last press conference, the president of the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh, surprised everyone present by confirming that Canelo's purse will exceed $100 million, the highest amount ever guaranteed for a Mexican athlete.
“No, you're wrong about the number... it's more than that,” Alalshikh said with a smile when a reporter asked him if the contract guaranteed $100 million.
“Why are you lowering the amount? I'm fighting for more,” Canelo joked to the press.
A landmark multimillion-dollar contract
This will be the second fight in the three-fight agreement that Canelo signed with Riyadh Season, which has already made him one of the highest-paid athletes on the planet. According to estimates, the Guadalajara native could pocket up to $150 million, a figure that exceeds any previous contract for a Mexican boxer and puts him on par with the biggest stars in world sport.
For his part, Terence Crawford will not be left empty-handed either. Reports indicate that his purse will be around $50 million, making this card one of the most lucrative of all time.

More than a fight: a global event
Allegiant Stadium will be the epicenter of this historic evening, which will not only bring together thousands of fans in Las Vegas, but will also reach millions of homes around the world thanks to Netflix's global broadcast, which is entering the world of elite boxing for the first time.
The event will kick off at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, in what is expected to be one of the biggest nights of Canelo's career. The Mexican, with a record of 63 wins (39 KOs), will seek to defend his titles against an undefeated Crawford who moved up two divisions for this historic challenge.
A fight to remember
Beyond the money, this is one of the most important fights in Canelo's career. He made that clear at the press conference:
“I know I'm facing one of the best fighters out there. If the knockout comes, great, but I'm ready to prove why I'm the best.”
The boxing world is celebrating. Whatever happens in the ring, Canelo has already made history with the largest purse ever guaranteed for a Mexican athlete, cementing his legacy.
