Mike Tyson Seeks Redemption and Revenge Against Jake Paul After Fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Mike Tyson reignites his fighting spirit: the former world champion seeks a rematch with Jake Paul after facing Floyd Mayweather. At 58, he claims to be in his best shape ever and promises redemption.
The icon returns: Tyson comes back hungry for redemption
Mike Tyson, one of boxing’s all-time legends, is making headlines again. At 58 years old, the former world champion has confirmed that he’s aiming for a rematch against Jake Paul once he faces Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2026. After losing by unanimous decision to the influencer-turned-boxer in November 2024, Iron Mike seems determined to reclaim his honor in the ring.
In a recent interview with Bloody Elbow, Tyson admitted that poor physical condition and serious health issues affected his performance in that fight, which was streamed on Netflix and broke global viewership records. “I didn’t want to use it as an excuse, but I had some really serious health problems—although I’m fine now,” he confessed. The boxing legend now claims to feel rejuvenated: “I feel better than ever. This is the best moment of my life. I learned from my last fight, and I’m ready to come back.”
A more focused Iron Mike than ever
The American legend insists he has regained the discipline that made him one of the most feared fighters in history. “No excuses this time. I’m not here to talk about the past, I’m here to prove that I still have the power and the heart,” said Tyson, who now trains under a regimen designed specifically to boost his endurance and reflexes.
His upcoming bout with Floyd Mayweather, another boxing icon, will serve as the perfect warm-up to test his real level. However, Tyson’s true goal remains clear: a second showdown with Jake Paul, who defeated him last year in a fight that divided fans. “I just hope that after this fight with Floyd, we can have a rematch. Yes, I’d be very interested in that,” said the former champion confidently.
The pride of a veteran: Tyson’s manager speaks out
Tyson’s manager, Amer Abdallah, defended his client’s effort and bravery, insisting that this comeback isn’t just for show, it’s a statement of strength. “I’m proud of a 58-year-old man doing things 20-year-olds can’t. Mike gives 100% every single day in the gym,” Abdallah told reporters.
The representative also dismissed the persistent rumors claiming the Paul fight was “fixed.” “There was no deal, absolutely nothing. Mike gave it everything he had, and this time he’ll prove it with even more power,” Abdallah declared.
A second chance to make history
Although some critics doubt that a nearly 60-year-old Tyson can still compete at a high level, the former champion seems more motivated than ever. On social media, fans are divided, some urging him to retire for good, others cheering on his quest for redemption.
Tyson, however, pays no attention to the noise. “Boxing saved me once, and it can save me again,” he said. With his Mayweather fight approaching and a Jake Paul rematch looming, Mike Tyson is preparing to write one final, epic chapter in his career. Iron Mike hasn’t said his last word.
