Manny Pacquiao Invades Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s Territory and Takes Over His Former Gym
Manny Pacquiao sparked controversy by taking over a gym linked to Floyd Mayweather in Hollywood, just before their highly anticipated rematch. Between contract disputes and provocations, the fight is already happening outside the ring.
Pacquiao Invades Mayweather’s Territory and Sends a Clear Message
Manny Pacquiao chose not to speak—at least not at first. Instead, he let the setting do the talking: a boxing gym in Hollywood, once linked to Floyd Mayweather Jr., now rebranded under a new identity: Pacquiao Prime Boxing.
The move is far from random. Just months before their highly anticipated rematch on September 19 in Las Vegas, the Filipino icon is not only preparing physically—he’s also taking a battle outside the ring. Walking through heavy bags, pointing at a partially built ring, and glancing at an image of his rival—soon to be removed—feels like a direct message.
The timing is perfect… or dangerous. Because this fight doesn’t just revive a historic rivalry—it reopens wounds from their record-breaking 2015 clash that left mixed emotions.
The Controversy That Could Break the Fight
The tension goes beyond symbolism. There’s a real conflict threatening to shake the event: is this a professional fight or an exhibition?
While Mayweather has publicly suggested it’s an exhibition, Pacquiao’s camp strongly disagrees. According to statements collected by The Associated Press, the Filipino’s team insists there are “three signed agreements” clearly defining the bout as an official fight.
“He knows what he signed,” Pacquiao stated firmly, making it clear that for him, this is about “dignity and integrity.”
Meanwhile, Jas Mathur, CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, went even further. He claims Mayweather already received a financial advance, reinforcing the legitimacy of the agreement. According to these reports, the situation could already be heading toward legal action.
Taunts, Mockery, and a Legacy on the Line
The rivalry has heated up again—and it’s getting personal. Pacquiao’s camp didn’t hold back. Mathur even called Mayweather a “chicken,” while Manny himself mocked the situation by making clucking sounds and flapping his arms.
Beyond the spectacle, something deeper is at stake: legacy.
Pacquiao, staying true to his style, refused to call himself the greatest of all time—but he dropped a powerful fact: he is the only boxer to win titles across four different decades.
“I let the people decide who is the greatest,” he said.

More Than a Fight: Pacquiao’s Growing Empire
While the boxing world focuses on the rematch, Pacquiao is building something much bigger. The Hollywood gym is just the beginning of an ambitious project: creating elite training centers and expanding his brand globally.
This won’t be a traditional gym. It’s designed as a private high-performance facility, aimed at developing the next generation of fighters.
