Promoter Eddie Hearn, the face of Matchroom Boxing and one of the people closest to Joshua, was clear: this is not the time to talk about fights, contracts, or opponents. For Hearn, the only priority is giving Joshua the space he needs to heal.
According to Hearn, Anthony Joshua will need time physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, before making any decision about his future. He stressed that this situation is unlike any defeat or sporting pressure Joshua has faced before. This is not about titles or rankings, but about a human loss no one can ever prepare for.
Boxing takes a back seat
Hearn also highlighted a trait that has defined Joshua throughout his career which is his ability to put on a brave face in the face of adversity. This time, however, the wound is different. There is no bell, no corner, and no rematch.
The promoter acknowledged that people often appear to be okay when they are, in reality, going through a deep internal process. That is why he insists no one should pressure or speculate about the boxer’s future at this moment.

While Eddie Hearn believes Joshua will want to box again one day, he made it clear that the decision will only come when Anthony himself feels ready. There will be no dates, no early announcements, and no external pressure.
