NBA Officially Closes the Lebron James Era With an International All-Nba First Team
The National Basketball Association officially unveiled its 2025-26 All-NBA First Team, symbolically marking the end of the legendary era of LeBron James. For the first time in more than two decades, the NBA icon was not selected to any of the three All-NBA teams.
The First Team also highlighted the league’s growing international dominance. Only one American player made the lineup: Cade Cunningham. The rest of the squad features Canadian superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and European talents Victor Wembanyama, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic were unanimous selections with 500 votes each from the panel of 100 media members. Wembanyama earned 498 votes, Doncic received 482, and Cunningham completed the First Team with 414 votes.
The All-NBA Second Team featured Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and Donovan Mitchell. Meanwhile, the Third Team included Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murray, Jalen Johnson, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Duren.
LeBron’s absence ends an incredible streak of 21 consecutive seasons appearing on an All-NBA team. During that span, he earned 13 First Team selections and four appearances each on the Second and Third Teams, cementing one of the greatest legacies in basketball history.
