Bam Adebayo Makes History With 83 Points, Shatters Records
Bam Adebayo led the Miami Heat with 83 points against the Wizards, recording the second-highest individual scoring in NBA history and setting multiple historical, franchise, and 2025/26 season records.
Bam Adebayo etched his name in NBA history by scoring 83 points in the Miami Heat’s 150-129 victory over the Washington Wizards. The performance makes the Miami center the second-highest individual scorer in a single NBA game, surpassing Kobe Bryant’s 81 points and trailing only Wilt Chamberlain’s legendary 100-point game in 1962.
But Adebayo’s 83 points are remarkable not only for their total—they also set multiple records across NBA history, the franchise, and the 2025/26 season. Among his top achievements, he attempted 43 free throws, breaking Dwight Howard’s previous record of 39, and made 36 free throws, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain’s prior mark of 28 in his 100-point game.
Regarding franchise records, Bam exceeded the 61 points scored by LeBron James on March 3, 2014, for the Heat. He also set the new scoring record for the 2025/26 NBA season, topping Nikola Jokic’s previous high of 56 points.
On a personal level, Adebayo more than doubled his previous career-high in an NBA game, which had been 41 points against the Brooklyn Nets in 2021. This past night, he not only doubled it but added an extra point for a total of 83, leaving fans and analysts stunned.
With this historic performance, Bam Adebayo cements himself as one of the NBA’s most dominant stars, proving he can achieve historic feats that will remain in the record books forever.
