Pascal Siakam’s Double-Double Powers Pacers to Game 7 in NBA Finals
The Indiana Pacers’ season is still alive, and much of the credit goes to Pascal Siakam’s commanding performance in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
With their backs against the wall and the Oklahoma City Thunder threatening to end their historic run, Pascal Siakam delivered a crucial double-double, helping Indiana secure a 108-91 victory and force a winner-take-all Game 7 for the championship.
Facing elimination, the Pacers stumbled out of the gate, missing their first eight shots and falling behind 10-2. But Siakam’s leadership and energy quickly shifted the momentum.
Siakam finished the night with 16 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, and a block in 32 minutes of action, notching his second double-double of the Finals. His relentless effort on both ends of the floor helped Indiana outwork the Thunder, especially during a game-changing second quarter.
One of the game’s signature moments came late in the first half: after Tyrese Haliburton deflected a pass, Siakam sprinted the floor, caught a transition pass, and threw down a thunderous dunk over Jalen Williams.
The play electrified Gainbridge Fieldhouse and capped off a 30-9 Pacers run that gave Indiana a commanding 22-point halftime lead. Siakam’s ability to finish in transition and provide highlight plays under pressure has been a hallmark of his postseason.
Dominating the glass and the paint
Siakam’s impact was felt most on the boards. He pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, consistently limiting Oklahoma City’s second-chance opportunities and igniting fast breaks for Indiana.
His presence in the paint also forced the Thunder into tough shots and contributed to Indiana’s defensive surge, as the Pacers held OKC to just 24% shooting from three and outscored them in the paint.
Offensively, Siakam was aggressive but efficient, shooting 6-of-14 from the field and converting all three of his free throws. He also facilitated the offense, finding teammates for open looks and keeping the ball moving as Indiana’s attack overwhelmed Oklahoma City’s defense.
With six Pacers finishing in double figures, Siakam’s unselfishness and ability to draw defenders opened up opportunities for others throughout the night.
Veteran leadership on the biggest stage
Siakam’s experience as a former NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors has been invaluable for this young Pacers squad. In the 2025 playoffs, he’s averaged nearly 20 points and over eight rebounds per game, consistently stepping up in high-pressure moments.
His poise and leadership were on full display in Game 6, as he anchored Indiana’s effort on both ends and set the emotional tone for a team facing elimination.
With Game 7 looming, Siakam’s performance in Game 6 not only kept Indiana’s title hopes alive but also reminded the basketball world why he is one of the league’s premier playoff performers.
The Pacers will need every bit of his championship pedigree and all-around game to finish the job Sunday night in Oklahoma City.
