Lehecka reached his first grass-court final, seeing off a Draper fightback and a partisan crowd to triumph 6-4 4-6 7-5.
Draper was the first to take set off the 23-year-old Czech, but Lehecka dug in during a tense final set and took the win in two hours and seven minutes, reaching the fifth and biggest final of his ATP Tour career.
“It means a lot, you don’t beat a player like Jack every day,” Lehecka said.
“I want to say thanks to [the crowd] for making it fair. I know your favourite didn’t win today, but I really appreciate you being fair and clapping when I hit a few good [shots].”
Lehecka is the first Czech man to reach an ATP Tour final on grass since Tomas Berdych at Wimbledon in 2010. He will faces No.1 seed and previous Queen’s Club champion Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
A disappoimted Draper was aiming to join record five-time champion Andy Murray as the only British male singles winners at this event, but couldn't get the job done.
He will, however, return to a career-high No.4 in the world rankings and has earned a top-four seeding for Wimbledon.
“I've really felt the home support all week, it’s a real advantage and it helps drive me on,” Draper said.
“But at the same time, I’ve got a job to do and I’m not thinking about pressures like that. I’m going to go into Wimbledon feeling great about myself, and I’ll go in at a position I’ve been dreaming of since I was a little kid.”
