Khadija Shaw insists Manchester City "is where I want to be", with the forward's contract with the newly crowned Women's Super League champions set to expire.

Golden Boot winner Shaw took her tally for the season to 21 with a brace during City's 4-1 victory over West Ham on the final day, after which they lifted the WSL trophy.

The 29-year-old has been directly involved in 101 goals (83 goals, 18 assists) in the WSL, becoming the sixth player to reach triple figures in the competition's history.

Yet that could have been her final league appearance for City, who are yet to renew her expiring contract, while the forward has been linked with a move to Chelsea.

"Manchester is where I would want to be," Shaw said. "But, ultimately, we will see. I just want to enjoy [the trophy lift]. It's my first one [title], there have been a lot of emotions.

"It's been a long season of grind, hard work, ups and downs. But ultimately, we live for this, and I can't wait to go and celebrate."

City broke Chelsea's six-year hold on the WSL trophy following second-place Arsenal's draw with Brighton in midweek, while clinching their first title in 10 years.

Head coach Andree Jeglertz was thrilled to see his players round off the season in such style.

"I've stopped being impressed by this team because they always deliver," he said.

"They are so focused on the task. I am not surprised, but I am proud they were able to do that. There are a lot of things going on at this moment, and they still put in a good performance."
