Bencic to face Radwanska in Eastbourne final
Belinda Bencic moved into the Aegon International final against Agnieszka Radwanska after Caroline Wozniacki retired injured.
Caroline Wozniacki lasted just three games of her WTA Aegon International semi-final against Belinda Bencic before withdrawing through injury.
The second seed had slipped to a 3-0 first-set deficit in the last four contest on the grass at Bournemouth on Friday, before pulling up complaining of sore hips.
The Dane - champion in 2009 - consulted her trainer and opted to take no risks with Wimbledon starting on Monday.
Wozniacki, seeded fifth at SW19, is due to face Saisai Zheng in the first round at the All England Club.
After the match, Bencic expressed her sympathy for Wozniacki, saying: "It's a little bit of an awkward situation for me. I'm sorry for Caroline."
Top seed Petra Kvitova played no part in the Aegon International due to illness, while Eugenie Bouchard, Daria Gavrilova and Angelique Kerber all withdrew during the tournament with Wimbledon on the horizon.
Bencic will now meet ninth seed Agnieszka Radwanska in the final after the Pole - seeded ninth - defeated Sloane Stephens 6-1 6-7 (3-7) 6-2.
"First of all, I'm just very, very happy to be in the final again, it's been a while since 2008," said Radwanska, the victor in Eastbourne in 2008
"Playing with the wind is probably the most difficult for the players, and it was blowing strongly pretty much the whole match.
"The match was up and down throughout, so I had to fight for each ball because she was playing great. I had some chances in the second set but she was just too good in the important moments and I'm just glad to finish the match in three sets."
