Nadal drops to seventh in rankings
Rafael Nadal has fallen to seventh in the ATP rankings - his lowest position in more than 10 years.
Following his defeat to Andy Murray in Sunday's ATP Madrid Open final, Rafael Nadal has dropped to seventh in the world rankings.
His failure to defend the Masters 1000 clay-court title sees the Spaniard fall to his lowest position in more than 10 years.
Murray, meanwhile, remains in third and has closed the gap on second-placed Roger Federer, who was knocked out in the second round in Madrid by Nick Kyrgios.
Milos Raonic and Tomas Berdych have both moved up two places to fourth and fifth respectively, while Kei Nishikori drops one to sixth.
In the WTA rankings, Carla Suarez Navarro, who reached the last eight in Madrid, has jumped two places into 10th - equalling her career best.
Agnieszka Radwanska, meanwhile, has dropped four places from ninth to 13th after her third-round exit in Madrid.
