Isner progresses to Nice semi-finals
Second seed John Isner remains on course for the Open de Nice Cote d'Azur final after beating Dusan Lajovic in the quarter-finals.
John Isner is through to the semi-finals of the Open de Nice Cote d'Azur following a straight-sets win over Dusan Lajovic.
The second seed needed just an hour and 17 minutes to claim a relatively straightforward 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 win.
Isner, who hit eight aces on his way to an 18th success of the season, told the ATP world tour's official website: "I thought it was a pretty high-quality match.
"I played pretty well. As it is in a lot of my matches, it came down to a few points in the first and second sets."
The American will now face Dominic Thiem in the last four after the Austrian's surprise victory against third seed Ernests Gulbis.
Thiem dominated the first set and recovered from 3-1 down in the second to progress 6-2 6-4.
Borna Coric will face fourth seed Leonardo Mayer in the other semi-final. Croatian teenager Coric beat James Duckworth 6-3 7-6 (7-3), while fourth seed Mayer saw off eighth seed Juan Monaco 6-3 6-4 in all-Argentinian clash.
