In an exclusive interview to our website, the Egyptian star Mohamed Abou Trika has defended Barcelona and also applauded the directions of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City before their UCL Quarter-Final 1st leg clash.
The former Egypt international said to beIN SPORTS that Barcelona are currently the best team in Europe and also that he was impressed by the job that has been done by the clubs from France & England.
When asked about Atletico Madrid players, who were critical of European referees saying that they are favouring Barcelona after their 2-1 UCL Quarter-Final 1st leg defeat to the Catalans.
Abou Trika said: “Referees are part of the game, there are some good decisions and some bad but I don’t really think that any referee would make a mistake on purpose, everyone should accept the decisions of the referee.”
When asked who he thought are the favourites to win the competition, Abou Trika was very clear with his answer:
‘’Barcelona are the favourites to win, especially when they are in top form. Real Madrid have a chance too, I think we will see a Spanish team in the final for sure.’’
And about the Paris Saint-Germain v Manchester City fixture, the 37-year-old said:
‘’PSG have more experience in the Champions League and that will play an important role, but reaching this level is a great achievement for both teams!
