Valencia sign Japan international Ryunosuke Sato until 2031
Valencia have completed the signing of highly rated Japanese winger Ryunosuke Sato from FC Tokyo on a contract that runs until 2031.
Born in Nishitokyo, Tokyo, on October 16, 2006, Sato arrives at Mestalla to strengthen Valencia's attacking options with his pace, agility and technical quality.
The 18-year-old joins after an impressive spell with FC Tokyo, where he registered six goals and six assists in 19 appearances, earning the J1 League's Best Young Player award.
Sato also enjoyed a productive 2024/25 campaign while on loan at Fagiano Okayama, making 28 appearances, scoring five goals and providing one assist.
At international level, Sato has represented Japan at every youth level from Under-16 through to Under-23 before making his senior debut on June 10, 2025. He also became the youngest player in Japan's history to feature in a FIFA World Cup qualifier.
His honours with Japan include AFC Asian Cup titles at Under-17 and Under-23 level, as well as the EAFF E-1 Football Championship with the senior national team.
Valencia will hope one of Japan's brightest young talents can continue his rapid development in LaLiga as the club looks to strengthen its squad for the coming seasons.
