U.S. Soccer social media hints at potential crest change
The federation's social media accounts no longer display the previous logo, giving credence to reports that an overhaul is coming soon.
Is there a new crest on the horizon for the United States?
The federation's social media accounts now display a blank white space where the crest once was shown, and the latest post has a video showing workers taking down the sign in front of U.S. Soccer House in Chicago.
A number of designers and fans have tried their hand at new designs to replace the crest, which features motion lines behind a soccer ball and three stars at the top. But, a design leaked earlier this week on social media also received a fair share of complaints.
"Both the new logo and jersey are absolute trash," wrote Instagram user Matthew Buonocore.
Several Twitter users shared the same sentiment.
