FIFA president election date to be set next month
The date for FIFA's extraordinary elective Congress will be set at an Executive Committee meeting next month.
The extraordinary FIFA Executive Committee is to meet on July 20 to set a date for the extraordinary elective Congress that will determine the successor to departing president Sepp Blatter.
Blatter won a fifth term as president when he saw off the challenge of sole rival Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein in last month's elections.
However, the 79-year-old subsequently announced that he would be resigning amid a scandal that has engulfed FIFA in which 14 people - including nine past and present FIFA officials - were indicted by the United States Department of Justice on charges of racketeering conspiracy and corruption.
Blatter, who is to remain in charge until the Congress, vowed to lead a "comprehensive programme of reform" during the remainder of his tenure.
December 16 has been the reported date for the Congress.
