Nathan McCullum to end Black Caps career
The elder brother of New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, Nathan, is poised to retire from international cricket after earning 145 caps.
Nathan McCullum is set to end his international career at the end of New Zealand's domestic season.
McCullum, the elder brother of Black Caps captain Brendon, has earned 145 caps in limited-overs cricket since making his debut in a Twenty20 international against South Africa in 2007.
An off-spinner capable of handy innings with the bat, he boasts 118 wickets for New Zealand and has often excelled in keeping things tight, as evidenced by an impressive economy rate of 6.9 runs per over in T20s.
Now 35, McCullum told the New Zealand Herald: "I don't want to make a big song and dance about it, but it's time to start thinking about the next phase of my life.
"I've got the sense that the end of this season is the right time to call it quits in international cricket."
McCullum was part of the New Zealand squad that reached this year's Cricket World Cup final, although he was not called upon to play.
