Maxwell Stokes the fire after controversial dismissal
Australia's Glenn Maxwell has taunted England fans after Ben Stokes' controversial dismissal in the second ODI at Lord's.
Glenn Maxwell believes the furore surrounding Ben Stokes' dismissal for obstructing the field is much ado about nothing.
England all-rounder Stokes was given out on review in the 26th over of Saturday's one-day international at Lord's - which Australia won by 64 runs to move 2-0 up in the series - when he was adjudged to have blocked Mitchell Starc's attempt to throw at his stumps.
The decision caused controversy after the game, with captains Eoin Morgan and Steve Smith at odds over the latter's appeal for Stokes to be dismissed.
But Australia all-rounder Maxwell feels there is no difference between his dismissal for lbw and that of Stokes.
"To all my English friends that aren't happy with the Stokes dismissal, by your logic, I should be upset that England appealed for lbw against me," the Yorkshire man posted on Facebook.
"Both balls were hitting the stumps, both technically out according to the rules of the game, both of us should get our limbs out of the way.
"End of story... 2 nil."
Australia can take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match ODI series when the sides meet again at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
