Wales' Liam Williams out of World Cup
A foot injury sustained in Wales' Pool A loss to Australia has ended Liam Williams' Rugby World Cup.
Liam Williams has been ruled out of the remainder of the Rugby World Cup with a foot injury, the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) confirmed on Sunday.
The Wales back sustained the problem in the closing stages of Wales' 15-6 Pool A loss to Australia at Twickenham on Saturday.
Williams overcame foot surgery to play at the tournament and was making his return from a concussion picked up against England in the clash wtih the Wallabies.
But his World Cup has now come to an end, giving head coach Warren Gatland another injury problem on the wing after Hallam Amos was forced to withdraw with a dislocated shoulder earlier in the tournament.
A tweet from the WRU read: "Disappointing news out of camp this morning. Liam Williams ruled out of RWC with foot injury."
After coming second in Pool A behind Australia, Wales face South Africa in the quarter-finals at Twickenham in next Saturday.
