New Zealand turned on the style to complete a 3-0 series whitewash of Wales with an emphatic 46-6 victory in Dunedin on Saturday

The tourists had proven competitive for long periods in the first two Tests, but were blown away at Forsyth Barr Stadium as a much-changed All Blacks side produced a devastating attacking display.

Tries from Ben Smith and George Moala enabled the world champions – who have now won 41 consecutive home Tests – to open up a 12-point lead by the end of a first half illuminated by a host of thrilling breaks from deep.

The elusive Beauden Barrett then crossed twice after the interval to end the match as a contest, while Dane Coles and Israel Dagg also went over to heap further misery on a Wales side whose exertions over the past fortnight looked to have caught up with them.

Wales led 6-3 after 18 minutes, two penalties from Dan Biggar offsetting one successful kick from Barrett, but Warren Gatland's men soon had reason to be concerned.

After Barrett and Smith had combined in the first of a series of swift attacks from inside the All Blacks half, powerful scrummaging from the hosts resulted in Wales prop Tomas Francis being driven up into the air.

From a second scrum, Aaron Smith's floated pass put his namesake over in the right corner and, although the conversion was missed, Barrett extended his side's lead with another penalty.

Moala was denied a try by Liam Williams' last-ditch tackle following a scintillating move involving the outstanding Dagg. However, Dagg soon set another glorious counter in motion and there was no stopping Moala for a second time after the ball had been flamboyantly switched from one flank to another through several pairs of hands.

A brief period of Welsh pressure prior to the interval went unrewarded and New Zealand forged further clear in the 44th minute when Barrett powered through some weak tackling for his first try.

Having been switched to full-back, Barrett soon produced a trademark change of pace to accelerate through a tiring defence and touch down again.

Wales' pain was not over there, hooker Coles scoring the All Blacks' fifth try before Dagg streaked down the right wing for a length-of-the-field score that provided a fitting end, Barrett's conversion taking his personal haul to 26 points.
